Dr. J. Michael Adame
Dr. Adame graduated from Donna High School in 1978 then attended the University of Texas in Austin Pharmacy School where he graduated in 1983. He immediately began Dental School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and received his DDS in 1987. He was accepted into the Indian Health Service’s two-year tour on the Crow Indian Reservation in Montana and upon completing this in 1989, he returned to his hometown in Donna where he opened his first dental office. This office continues to see patients full time and is staffed by his associate dentists. Dr. Adame sees patients in his Edinburg office where he also has associate dentists, two hygienists and a wonderful staff.
Dr. Adame joins an elite group of only a few dentists in the State of Texas as a Diplomat of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM). He is also dental director of the only accredited American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) facility in the state of Texas-Adame Dental Sleep Medicine. Dr. Adame has been chosen to be on faculty for the AADSM to teach such courses as the Essentials Course, the Practical Demonstration Course as well as the upcoming Mastery Series. He has lectured on the topic of dental sleep medicine to the local hygiene society, the local dental society and a regional Texas orthodontic society. He also serves on the Education Committee and has been nominated to be on the AADSM’s board of directors. He is also a clinical associate for the Pulmonary and Sleep Center of the RGV. He has been awarded the Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) and has served on the board and several officer positions in the Texas AGD (TAGD) including President in 2000. His local chapter has also nominated him for Texas Dentist of the Year.
He has been married over 30 years to his lovely wife Cordy and they have two children. He enjoys training for and occasionally competing in triathlons. He and his wife enjoy traveling together and with family and friends.
Dr. Norma Alonzo
Dr. Norma Alonzo graduated from Edinburg High School in 1983. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Pan American University in 1987. After receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Dental Branch in 1991, she returned to The Valley and started practicing general dentistry as an associate to Dr. J. Michael Adame. She has been with the practice for twenty-five years. Dr. Alonso is a member of the local chapter of the American Dental Association. She has served as secretary to the RGV Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Alonzo has been married to her husband, Roland, since 1989. They have two sons, Matthew and Phillip. She enjoys being with family and friends, reading and working with youth through her parish and the Boy Scouts of America.
Dr. Mayra Fuentes
Dr. Fuentes grew up in the Rio Grande Valley and is excited to return and work in the community where she was raised. She graduated from McAllen High School/International Baccalaureate Program in 2007 and completed her undergraduate education in 2011 at UTPA. Upon completion of her undergraduate education she began dental school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio where she graduated in 2015. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Dental Association, American Dental Association and the RGV Dental Association. Dr. Fuentes enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
